You Will Know Me by My Deeds
Mike Cobb Revisits the Tragic Atlanta Child Murders in Riveting Sequel to The Devil You Knew
The allure of unsolved crimes continues to enthrall the public in a relentless search for answers. In his newest novel, You Will Know Me by My Deeds, author Mike Cobb artfully merges historical facts with speculative theories to examine the infamous Atlanta Child Murders—a case that still haunts the collective memory.
This novel serves as the sequel to Cobb’s earlier work, The Devil You Knew, picking up the narrative after the exoneration of a falsely accused suspect and the confirmed death of the true perpetrator. Set amid the turmoil of Atlanta between 1979 and 1982, a period shadowed by the fear and tragedy of the Atlanta Child Murders, Cobb’s work challenges conventional notions of justice by suggesting that other, more sinister elements might have been at work.
Reflecting on his dual passions for research and writing, Cobb comments, “I love history and research almost as much as I love writing. Having spent much of my career as a quantum scientist, I am a researcher. My focus on crime came about as the result of the cold-case execution-style murder of a friend when I was 17. I’m also working on that story.”
Bursting with suspense, layered with controversy, and connecting unexpected threads between past events and the present, You Will Know Me by My Deeds is a compelling read for those who are drawn to both historical fiction and the enigmatic world of true crime.
“Mike Cobb is a master at weaving together a fictional story with real historical events, in particular ones in Atlanta and its surroundings.”
