Fun for All at the St. Pete Pier

The St. Pete Pier was named among the best urban designs in the world by the Urban Land Institute.

The St. Pete Pier during a beautiful sunset

Touted as the Southeast's largest waterfront playground, the St. Pete Pier District offers plenty to do – and so much room to roam in its beautiful public green spaces.

Swim, stroll or read a book at Spa Beach. Walk, bike or rollerblade along the waterfront and enjoy great views of the marina and city skyline. Shop for local artwork and goods at shaded stall and market-style tents at The Marketplace (open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.).

Let the kids try for a big catch at the fishing deck, relax at the family park and picnic area, or spend time at the playground and splash pad. There's even a totally cool tilted lawn that your little ones (and maybe you) are going to want to roll down.

One of the most exciting attractions at the St. Pete Pier is the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center, which offers visitors a chance to learn about the Tampa Bay estuary, the largest in Florida. Inside the center's expansive glass walls and at an outdoor "wet classroom," guests will find interactive exhibits, live marine habitats, tours and video presentations. Kids will love this hands-on experience!

The Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center has also launched M/V Discovery, its new 45’ Eco-Vessel which offers on-the-water nature tours and sunset tours daily on Tampa Bay. These 75-minute-long tours explore Tampa Bay’s history and the marine life found in and above the bay. Activities include a fisheries trawl, water quality sampling, dolphin identification, bird spotting, and visits to seagrass beds and mangrove shorelines. Buy boat tour tickets.
