Voices of Creative Clay—Gina Kenney

Gina K works on a piece of art

I have been at Creative Clay for a long time. I like to do art, I like to do plays, I like to do homework, and I like to work on the computer. Clay is my favorite, and for me sometimes I want to paint, sometimes I wanna do clay, sometimes I want to draw with markers. It just depends on how I feel.

My favorite type of art is animals and flowers. They are colorful and bright. I like to make rainbows. I pick up the paints like blue, like pink, I draw trees, rainbows. I pick up the paints again and do the letters G-I-N-A. My name - GINA.

I like dancing and like singing. I used to be in the play Annie. I like to sing; Annie songs, Girls just Wanna Have Fun, Billy Joel, John Bon Jovi, and Cindy Lauper.

It's so wonderful and it is so easy to write words to a song. I like to type it on the computer. I want to write what people who care about me, come see me, you know? I'm famous. I'm a good artist. Because of what I do, I sell my books and I get a paycheck.

Art, sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it's upsetting, sometimes it makes me so happy, it's good to get it out. I like to draw about fun parties, an elephant they dance, trying to do the conga. I could just see the elephant doing the twist and the conga. I draw that, and I enjoy that.
